Welcome to Learning Technology

Hello! My name is Daniel Ravury, This is my 24 years of teaching. I am the Computer Science Teacher here at Garvy Elementary School. I have been teaching Computer Science for eighteen years here at Garvy and I am excited for another great school year! I received my Bachelor's degree in Engineering and I also received two Master degrees from DePaul University; one in Elementary Education and another in School Administration. I am also a Ph.D. Candidate in Instructional Technology from Northern Illinois University.

In my class, I teach the basics of Micro-bit, Augmented Reality, Coding, Scratch, Google Tools, Microsoft Office, and Raspberry Pi. I am also excited to receive LEGO Grant to introduce First LEGO League Team Challenge as an afterschool program. Computer Science is a growing field and I am so excited to share my passion for this subject with you all this year!

Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, painting, playing the drums, and having fun with my three children! My family and I are huge sports fans as well! Go Cubs and Bulls! I also run Yearbook at Garvy Elementary and have enjoyed designing it each year.
