Ms. Halle Uhler
Hello! My name is Halle Uhler and this is my fourth year teaching at Garvy School. I am excited to start my thirteenth school year working as a special education teacher in Chicago Public Schools. This year I will be supporting students with IEPs in kindergarten and sixth grade. I hold Bachelor's Degrees in Public Policy and Gender Studies from DePaul University, a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from DePaul University and a Master's Certificate in Special Education from Roosevelt University.
Originally from Ohio, I moved to Chicago in the spring of 2000 and have called it my home since then. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, which includes my husband and our two children. Our little family also includes one cat, Tom, and two dogs, Peggy and Joey. We like to stay busy by going on hikes, visiting museums and the zoo, reading a lot of books and enjoying the outdoors as much as we can. I am an avid reader and enjoy being part of a book club. I also enjoy thrifting as I am always on the look out for vintage Pyrex, records, and books and games to be shared at school. I am looking forward to another amazing school academic year. Go Bulldogs!
