Mrs. Correa - Music

Welcome everyone! My name is Mrs. Correa (most of my students call me Mrs. C). I am from Texas and attended Northwestern State University of Louisiana. I received my Bachelor’s in Music Education K-12 with an emphasis in Instrumental Music. I previously worked on the South Side in CPS; this is my second year at Garvy. I love southern food, the outdoors, and spending time with my husband and two kitties!

In this class, students will learn the basics of music creation, appreciation, and performance. We work on many aspects of music, including singing, playing various instruments, reading music, exploring music and technology, music genres, and more. This school year, I teach Kinder, 3rd, 4th, 6th, and 8th in the Fall semester and 1st, 2nd, 5th, and 7th in the Spring semester.

This year, students will have two different opportunities to perform for their families depending on their schedules. If they have music class in the Fall semester, they will perform at Tunes on the Turf in December. If they have music class in the Spring, they will participate in the Spring Sing, our brand-new spring concert in May!
