CPS’ New Approach to School and District Accountability!

Why the change?

CIDT applies many lessons learned from the old rating policy to provide a more complete picture of each school and more effectively support continuous improvement.

What’s in the new policy?

  • Approach to Accountability: Schools are not ranked. There is shared accountability for student success between the District and schools.
  • Defining Student Success: Student success and achievement are defined by robust and holistic learning and well-being measures.
  • District Support: The District provides equitable resources and ongoing support to schools, so schools can create the necessary conditions to improve student learning experiences.
